Stern Pinball introduces John Wick pinball, bringing the high-octane action of the billion-dollar film franchise to the playfield. Developed in collaboration with Lionsgate, the game is available in Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition models and features movie-inspired artwork, locations like the Continental Hotel and Red Circle Club, and exclusive mechanical features including a weapons crate and Blood Oath Marker.
Stern Pinball, Inc. has unveiled its latest line of pinball games centered around the renowned assassin, John Wick. Developed in partnership with Lionsgate, these games offer an immersive experience of the billion-dollar John Wick franchise, featuring film-inspired mechanical elements, artwork, and Stern’s innovative dynamic AI combat system. The games are available in Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition models. The John Wick film series is produced by Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee of Thunder Road, along with director Chad Stahelski through 87Eleven Entertainment.
In these pinball games, players assume the role of John Wick, navigating high-speed car chases and fast-action drifting across a playfield inspired by iconic franchise locations like the New York Continental Hotel and the Red Circle Club, all set against a dramatic New York City skyline. Players can unlock John Wick’s weapons crate to access a hidden shot target path for retrieving various weapons. The sculpted Blood Oath Marker must be used with caution, as players face the risk of consequences. The objective is to survive other assassins, complete jobs for the High Table’s legendary Factions, and ultimately tackle John Wick’s “Special Assignment!”
A standout feature of the John Wick pinball games is Stern’s new dynamic AI combat system, which brings the intense combat scenes from the films to life. This system introduces a primitive video game AI to control enemy lights on the playfield, differentiating it from previous pinball machines where lights were managed by player actions, timers, and random number generators. The AI-controlled enemies respond to player behavior, moving tactically to counter player objectives, thus offering a unique challenge in each session. Additionally, a new action video player reflects player actions, showcasing video clips of John Wick performing similar feats in the films when three enemies are defeated.
The games are enriched with high-quality film and audio assets, featuring custom narration by Ian McShane as Winston and an original score by Charlie Benante of Anthrax and Pantera. Limited Edition models include pieces of John Wick’s iconic suits, provided by Lionsgate as franchise artifacts. The games also feature original neo-noir style paintings by acclaimed artist Randy Martinez.
