Built on Stern’s SPIKE 3 platform, this updated edition delivers enhanced visuals, immersive audio, and expanded gameplay as players relive iconic moments from the series while battling walkers and struggling to survive the apocalypse.
Stern Pinball, Inc., in collaboration with AMC Networks, has unveiled The Walking Dead Remastered, an advanced version of the iconic pinball game based on AMC’s popular franchise, The Walking Dead. Since its debut in 2010, the series has significantly influenced horror storytelling through its TV series, spin-offs, video games, and merchandise. Utilizing Stern’s SPIKE 3 technology, this remastered version offers players an immersive experience, revisiting key moments from the series as they navigate the apocalypse. Available in Premium and Limited Edition models, the game also includes a range of accessories.
In this remastered edition, players engage in battles against walkers and relive pivotal scenes from the series. The design team, led by John Borg, has modernized the original game, enhancing features like the “Cell Block C” Prison, bicycle girl ramp, and the Well Walker toy. The crossbow device has been updated for better precision, and the game now includes new RGB lighting and illuminated zombie heads.
The development of The Walking Dead Remastered involved meticulous attention to detail, honoring the original work by John Borg and Lyman F. Sheats, Jr. The game retains its revolutionary ruleset, offering a new mode structure and risk-reward elements. Players can explore iconic multiballs and Dead Feature modes, striving to survive the Horde and escape Terminus.
Visually, the game combines high-quality video with a vibrant art style, both on the cabinet and display. New software enhancements introduce additional game rules and custom audio call-outs from actors Michael Rooker and Danai Gurira. Stern’s Insider Connected system provides real-time engagement and connectivity.
The SPIKE 3 technology platform features a larger 18.5” full HD display, a powerful processor, and an immersive audio system. Players will enjoy overhauled 3D graphics and custom animations that nod to the original dot matrix display. The electronics offer efficient power handling, improved Wi-Fi, and wireless headphone capabilities. The cabinet lighting customization system allows for personalized expression lighting.
The Limited Edition model, limited to 500 units globally, includes exclusive features such as The Walking Dead-themed game effects, a mirrored backglass, high-definition cabinet decals, custom pinball armor, a designer-autographed bottom arch, an upgraded audio system, anti-reflection playfield glass, a shaker motor, a sequentially numbered plaque, a signed Certificate of Authenticity, and a digital Insider Connected LE owner’s badge.
